Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 amβ9 pm. Long Island City is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Long Island City is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Excellent ambiance with customer service, music with a nice outdoor area. The Mediterranean style branzino was absolutely divine accompanied by the afagatto was a sweet treat. I felt like I was on a vacation. Perhaps a complimentary olive oil and bread would be nice for the sauce. Looking forward to coming back again.

The food was amazing and very delicious. The lasagna was very good. The texture was very soft and the sauce was very rich and thick. The lemon linguineβs flavor wasnβt as strong, allowing for a refreshing break. The breaded chicken was also very good however it wasnβt very crispy probably due to it being covered by a layer of cheese. Overall the food was really good. My only complaint is that it took a while for our food to arrive. I would still suggest this place to people.

Go Nonna is absolutely worth going out of your way for. Itβs a small place, but they had us seated quickly, and we never felt rushed even though we took our time after a long day around the city. That alone goes a long way. The food really delivers. The shrimp pasta was out of this world, easily the standout. The meatballs had a great texture and flavor, and serving them with polenta and spinach is a nice touch that sets it apart. The carpaccio was elegant and really well done. The octopus was a little tougher than Iβm used to, but still had good flavor, so not a dealbreaker. Only small knock was the wine being a bit warm, likely just a bottle that hadnβt been fully chilled yet. It was still smooth and not bitter, so clearly well handled overall. Between the food, the relaxed atmosphere, and the service, this is the kind of place you remember and come back to.

I am usually very hesitant when trying Italian restaurants in Queens. I do not think I have been to many where I walked away truly very happy with the food. That being said, this place, as one reviewer put it, is quite a gem. We came here for a rainy Sunday lunch, so getting a table was not very difficult. The atmosphere felt very homey, and our server was very sweet. For starters, we ordered the tuna tartare. In my opinion, it was a little more bitter than I would have liked. I am not sure if that bitterness came more from the capers or from the lemon we squeezed over it. Still, the texture was very good and the rest of the flavor was nice. The entrees did take quite a while to come out, even though the restaurant was not especially busy. Our server apologized for the delay and mentioned that some of what we ordered, like the lasagna, takes longer for the kitchen to prepare. At the time, we did not mind too much since we had a lot to talk about. Because I have been a little jaded by a lot of Italian restaurants lately, I played it safe and ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken on top. My friends ordered the salmon and the lasagna, as mentioned earlier. We also shared a f

Nonna Italian and Argentina Restaurant was such a warm, inviting place to spend the evening. The service was attentive, welcoming, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and special. You can tell the cooks truly know their craft. Bien hecho. It is a great spot for a small party or a night out where you want to unwind, enjoy fine food, sip good wine, and share a little conversation and gossip in a comfortable setting. I had the Chicken Parmesano, and it was excellent. The chicken was breaded but still juicy and moist, with a light crust and a thick layer of hot, gooey cheese on top. It was full of flavor, with oregano and spices that brought everything together beautifully. It came with spaghetti cooked al dente and a rich, thick red marinara sauce that was flavorful, well-seasoned, and perfectly salted. The artisan bread was a lovely touch, the Pinot Noir paired beautifully with the meal, and ending the night with a Limoncello was the perfect finish. A wonderful delightful dining experience from start to finish. Big smiles, happy tummy, and cheers. π·
